Hunting Scene Fersan tapestry features a hunting scene from the 16th century inspired by the Maximilian hunting scenes. The original series of 12 tapestries of hunting scenes were woven in Brussels, Belgium and were based on the works of cartoonist Bernard van Orley. These scenes were set in the forest of Soignes, and each were inspired by a partcular month of the year. The commissioner of the work was unknown, however these works show the strong influence of Italian art on the European art scene. Here we see a gorgeous forest scene filled with luscious foliage, and nobility on horseback in their crimson, orange and blue attire, with their hounds among the plants in the foreground. The overall richness of this piece is reflected in the strong colors and the cohesive palette of browns, autumnal orange and greens.

  • 80% Cotton, 20% Viscose and Polyester blend.
  • Backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging.
  • Gently vacuum every 6 months. Dry clean only- when required.
